Easy Savory Meat Pie (Pastel or Empanadas)
Ingredients
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp of sugar
½ tsp salt
½ cup of butter (melted or at room temperature)
½ meat stock
Fillings (depending on your preference meat, vegetables or mix of meat and vegetables)
Oil for deep frying
Your favorite dipping sauce (optional)
Instructions

In a food processor, mix flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder

Add melted butter and meat/ vegetable stock until well mixed

Knead the dough nicely

Add water if too hard or add flour if too soft
5
Roll out the dough into a thin layer and cut out round disc shapes or heart shapes or square shapes
6
Spooned your filling on to the center of each disc
7
Fold or cover with another piece of disc and seal the edges with a fork
8
Deep fry and serve warm with or without your dipping sauce
