Grilled Stuffed Meat Pita (Arayes)
Grilled Stuffed Meat Pita (Arayes) is another flavorful way to cook ground meat. Arayes is middle estern food that I was introduced to years ago. Believe it or not this was my first time making it myself and it turns out really good! Originally you will mix ground beef and ground lamb meat. But do not worry if you can’t find ground lamb or a lamb meat to grind yourself. You can just use ground beef and still enjoy this delicious meal. To make the recipe lowcarb I like using lowcarb pita bread.
For this recipe, what you will need is:
- Ground lamb
- Cinnamon
- Cummin
- Onion
- Garlic
- Parsley
- Salt
- Bouillon (optional)
- Pita bread
Arayes can be made in the oven or air fryer but it will not have that original grilling flavor.
You can have your arayes with your favorite dipping sauce. For this recipe I used mango sauce, but a ranch dressing will do. A salad on a side goes well with this deliccious meal.
Ingredients
1 pound of ground fatty lamb meat
2 bunches of parsley
1 medium onion
4 garlic cloves
1 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of bouillon powder (optional)
1 Tbsp of cinnamon
1 Tbsp of cumin
Instructions
1
Finely chop your parsley, onion, garlic, then add it to the ground meat.
2
Add the cumin, cinnamon, salt, bouillon then mix well.
3
Cut each pita in half and open each pockect then insert the meat in each pocket half way. Use both palm of your hand to flatten the meat inside the pita pocket and distribute it evenly until you reach the end of the pita pocket.
4
- Grill the pita on each side for about 2 mins each.
- When using the oven, bake it in a preaheated oven at 375 for about 4 minutes.
- Remove and serve.
