What is nutritional yeast:
Nutritional yeast is a yeast deactivated. It is a strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, sold commercially as a food product. Nutritional yeast is usually in a yellow flake granulated, powder. This yeast is now common in vegan and vegetarian diet.
It contains high dose of B-complex vitamins trace amounts of several other vitamins and minerals.
Nutritional yeast has a strong flavor that is described as nutty or cheesy, which makes it popular as an ingredient in cheese substitutes.
The nutritional yeast I am using can be purchase here.
My favorite herbs for pesto is of course the standard basil. I do love Parsley pesto better than spinach. And since I have flax-seed, i was like why not use it instead of nuts. This pesto is friendly for an autoimmune paleo diet and keto diet also.
How to store Pesto
I love how you can store this pesto for up to a week in the fridge.
You ca also do a canning if you love making them in batches.
