Quick and Easy Concentrated Milk Bread
My favorite quick and easy concentrated milk bread is always the highlight of the brunch. This bread is so fluffy, and a crowd pleaser. My kids love these like crazy, unfortunatey I do like making these often. It is because I tend to lower my carbhydrate intake and this bread is a big temptation. But a slice once a while never hurt expecially when you are staying active!
You can shape this roll as you need it. I used the condensed milk to make this recipe. You can use a lactose free condensed milk and lactose free evaporated milk in your recipe if you are lactose intolenrent.
What you will need for this recipe is:
Evaporated milk
Sweetened condensed milk
Egg
Sugar
Instant yeast
All-purpose flour
Salt
Softened butter
Ingredients
Bread
1 cup evaporated milk
¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
2 tbsps sugar
2 and ¼ tsps instant yeast
3 and ¼ cups All-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
¼ cup softened butter
Egg wash:
1 egg
2 tbsps of evaporated milk
Glaze:
4 tbsps of butter
4 tbsps of condensed milk
Instructions
1
In a bowl, Mix evaporated milk, condensed milk, egg, yeast, sugar.
2
Add flour, salt mix well.
3
Add the crushed or soften butter then mix until well incorporated.
4
Knead the dough until smooth and elastic for about 10 minutes.
5
Place in an oiled bowl and cover, then let it rest until doubled in size.
6
Once risen, punch the air out and divide the dough in two part.
7
With the rolling pin, flatten the dough.
8
With your hand roll the flatten dough tightly and make sure you seal edges nicely.
9
Divide the rolled dough into about 7parts.
Place these pieces in an elongated baking pan (Loaf pan) lined with parchment paper.
10
Cover and let it seat in warm place for about 50mins.
11
Brush the dough with the egg wash ( mixture of 1 egg plus 2 tablespoons of milk).
Bake at 350F for 20mins
Remove and serve warm
A couple of things are wrong with this recipe; One is that there are no directions for making the glaze…..not that I couldn’t figure it out and Two, the 20 minute cook time is way off! More like 40-50!
